Assessment and management of intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors that take time or cause distress.
Care for Miami Lakes patients begins with a full psychiatric evaluation: current symptoms and how long they have lasted, psychiatric and medical history, medications and supplements, sleep, substance use, family history, and the daily stressors specific to work, school, and family life. From there we discuss a diagnosis in plain language and build a treatment plan together.
When medication is appropriate, options, expected benefits, side effects, and monitoring are reviewed at each visit. When helpful, care is coordinated with therapy, primary care, or other specialists, and laboratory or psychological testing may be recommended.
Miami Lakes is our closest neighbor to the northwest; most patients arrive in about 10 minutes down NW 67th Avenue or the Palmetto, and the office is easy to fit around a school drop-off in the Town Center area.
With such a short trip, Miami Lakes patients are usually seen in person; telehealth is used mainly for quick medication check-ins or when someone is home sick. For obsessive-compulsive disorder specifically, that means symptom review and medication monitoring stay on schedule without Miami Lakes patients rearranging a whole workday. Appointments are available in English and Spanish, and records can be shared with your primary care physician or therapist in Miami Lakes on request.
