About this condition

How insomnia & sleep concerns is evaluated and treated

Evaluation of difficulty falling or staying asleep, often linked to anxiety, mood, or other psychiatric conditions.

Care for Miami patients begins with a full psychiatric evaluation: current symptoms and how long they have lasted, psychiatric and medical history, medications and supplements, sleep, substance use, family history, and the daily stressors specific to work, school, and family life. From there we discuss a diagnosis in plain language and build a treatment plan together.

When medication is appropriate, options, expected benefits, side effects, and monitoring are reviewed at each visit. When helpful, care is coordinated with therapy, primary care, or other specialists, and laboratory or psychological testing may be recommended.

Getting to care from Miami

From downtown Miami, Brickell, or Little Havana the office is a straight run up NW 27th Avenue or I-95 to the Okeechobee Road exits, roughly 20-30 minutes outside rush hour. Metrorail riders usually connect at Okeechobee Station and finish the trip by rideshare, and patients should call the office to confirm parking and accessibility details.

Telehealth is available for the initial evaluation as well as follow-ups, and office visits at the Hialeah office remain an option when medication is being adjusted or an in-person check adds value, saving the hour of I-95 traffic a trip would otherwise cost. For insomnia and sleep concerns specifically, that means symptom review and medication monitoring stay on schedule without Miami patients rearranging a whole workday. Appointments are available in English and Spanish, and records can be shared with your primary care physician or therapist in Miami on request.
